Extras & Fun Facts

I started kindergarten when I was still 4, graduated high school and started college when I was still 17. My birthday is late September, and most schools had a cutoff of August 31st, but starting kindergarten in Japan, they apparently had a later cutoff.

I’ve been bitten by a zebra AND drooled on by a giraffe while my friend was sneezed on by a llama (I got a bit of it though my friend blocked most of the “blast”) - all on the same day. The Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, GA is no joke. Despite the aforementioned incidents, I still highly recommend it. I might be singing a different tune if the zebra bite had done damage. Fortunately for me, he didn’t chomp down with force and while I did have a pretty big honkin’ bruise on my arm, he didn’t break the skin. What I learned from this experience: zebras are needy. He bit me because I wasn’t paying attention to him while I was taking a picture of my friend with another animal.

Favorite colors: The bright, deep colors such as purples, blues, and turquoise - as seen in this background.

Big music lover - in 2018 I made a New Year’s Resolution to go to at least 1 live music show per month. I achieved - and exceeded - that goal in both 2018 and 2019, and was on track for the same in 2020. I’m a rocker gal, so the last few years included concerts for Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Green Day, Black Veil Brides, Highly Suspect, Bad Flower, Palaye Royale, In This Moment, My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice Cooper, Foreigner, Poison, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Weird Al (to name a few).

Yes, I LOVE Weird Al. That man is a national treasure.

I’m a beach lover. After my first experience with an all inclusive resort, my go to phrase became: The three magic words to me, aren’t ‘I love you’. Rather, they’re ‘it’s all inclusive!’

I absolutely adore animals. I have a slight obsession with baby cows. It is my sincerest desire to be able to cuddle with baby moos (my preferred name for cows). Actually, not just baby moos, but just about any baby animal. There’s a video on YouTube of a baby elephant climbing into a woman’s lap, and I don’t think I’ve ever been more jealous of a person. I have had the privilege of cuddling baby pink piglets AND baby tigers! YES, TIGERS! After I graduated high school, I volunteered at the Little Rock Zoo, and that summer two of the female tigers had cubs and I got to play with them! I really scored by getting assigned to volunteer in the big cat area that summer.

I’m a convertible gal. One of my favorite nice weather pastimes is to cruise with the top down in rural/farm areas (bonus - I often see baby moos!). I literally can drive for hours on a beautiful day.

As a young girl, I was pretty typical in my love of horses. I had a veritable ranch of My Little Ponies. For my 12th birthday, my parents gifted me with riding lessons at a nearby stable. I actually got to the point where I had learned to jump (what a thrill!) and my instructor wanted me to enter shows/competitions, but we moved (dad got a job flying the helicopter at the children’s hospital in Little Rock) and I didn’t have the opportunity to take lessons again.

My favorite city is Paris. I had one of the best naps of my life in this little grassy area at the Eiffel Tower. I always think of that nap with great fondness. I’ve been 3 (ish) times. The first during my month-long trip; then the next year I went to Nice, France and due to trains and planes, I had to spend the night in Paris before going home (this one is the “ish”); and for nearly 2 weeks a few years after that. To say I feel some envy when I’ve watched Emily in Paris is an understatement.
